my EDUCATION

My educational background includes an MA in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago with a specialization in Clinical Psychotherapy and School Social Work.

I have a BA in Economics, Government, Communications and Legal Institutions from American University in Washington, DC.

my TRAINING

I began my professional career as a clinical social worker gaining advanced training and experience working with adolescents, families, trauma, and the school system.

I've provided training to teachers, administrators and parents in multiple schools across the country on how to create trauma informed classrooms.

Since then, I have sought out advanced clinical training in treating couples, eating disorders, depression and anxiety.

I have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy by Dr. Sue Johnson to enrich the work I do with couples.

I am a Health At Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating informed therapist.

my INFLUENCES

My foundation in providing ethically sound and effective psychotherapy happened at the University of Chicago. And since then, I’ve had many inspiring teachers and mentors who have helped shape the psychotherapist I am today.

My work in helping couples heal is much influenced by the beautiful minds and works of Dr. Sue Johnson, Esther Perel, Helen and Harville Hendrix, Brene Brown.

The work of Onno van der Hart, PhD and his colleagues provides me a deeper understanding of the complexities and nuances in the treatment of trauma.

The treatment and healing of eating disorders I provide to clients grew out of the work of Carolyn Costin, Evelyn Tribole, and Rebecca Scritchfield. I grateful for these people, their work, and their influence on me.
